SamuraiTrucks was Canada's first JDM and kei vehicle importer, founded in 2001. We were doing this before it was a trend, before the social media hype, and before most of today's importers existed. Twenty-plus years in, that experience isn't a marketing line — it's the difference between a vehicle that's been properly assessed and one that hasn't.
This is the part most importers can't match. We have staff in Japan who inspect units before they ever ship — eyes on the vehicle, in person, at the source. The owner has family in Japan and travels there regularly to oversee operations directly. That's not a middleman ordering off an auction sheet and hoping. That's a real presence in Japan, built over decades.
SamuraiTrucks is a licensed dealer with the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council. We hold a dealer's license covering all vehicle types — not an informal operation, a real, accountable, licensed business.
We're not a flip lot. SamuraiTrucks runs a full service shop with mechanics who do repairs, servicing, and inspections. And we go further than anyone: we custom build. Track conversions. Custom suspension. Fabrication. If you can imagine it, we can build and install it.
We didn't guess. Over the years we've run nearly every track system made for kei trucks — Mattracks, Tatou, Polaris, and others. We put them through real conditions and saw firsthand where each one fell short. We settled on Camso because it earned it. When you buy a tracked build from us, you're getting the system we landed on after testing the entire field — not the only one we'd tried.
Importing well isn't just about buying vehicles — it's about who you know. Twenty-plus years has built relationships with brokers and parts suppliers in Japan that a new importer simply can't replicate. It's how we source the vehicles and the parts that others can't get.
Many Canadian kei parts sellers don't stock anything — they order from Japan after you pay, and you wait. We keep a real inventory of over 1,500 parts in Canada, including used OEM parts at 50–70% off new. When something needs a part down the road, we can actually help.
Anyone can build a flashy website. Before you put money down with any JDM or kei importer — including us — ask these questions: How long have you been importing? Do you have anyone in Japan, or are they buying off auction sheets sight-unseen? Do you work on the vehicles yourselves? Who are your parts connections? Can you actually custom build? Will you tell me what's wrong with the vehicle, including the flaws? Ask us these questions. Ask everyone these questions. We're confident in our answers.
