Tell us what you're looking for. We'll find it at Japanese auctions or dealers, inspect it, ship it, and have it ready for pickup at our shop in Grande Prairie, Alberta in 6–8 weeks.
How Custom Orders Work
Samurai Trucks is a licensed Alberta dealer. When you order a vehicle through us, you are buying it from us. We are not bidding on your behalf.
Some importers work as agents. They bid for you, you pay whatever the vehicle makes at auction plus their fee, and the vehicle becomes yours the moment the hammer drops. If it turns out to be a problem, it is your problem.
We work the other way around. You tell us what you are after. We quote a firm all-in price delivered, covering the vehicle, freight, duty, customs and paperwork. If you accept it, we source the vehicle, buy it as our own stock, and sell it to you at the price we quoted.
The price is set before we bid. No auction-day adjustments, no fee calculated on top.
We carry the sourcing risk. If nothing meeting your spec comes up at our number, we keep looking. Your deposit is non-refundable once sourcing begins and credits in full toward your purchase.
We are the seller, so problems are ours. If a vehicle lands and is not what the auction sheet described, we deal with it.
Acquisition cost is not disclosed, the same as at any dealership. The quoted figure is a retail price, not cost plus a fee, so there is no auction invoice to break out.
Finding the right vehicle is the actual work: reading auction sheets properly, knowing which grades and inspector notes matter, verifying chassis and mileage records, and arranging export, shipping and customs. That work is in the price rather than billed as a fee on top of it.

We source matches
Active searching at Japanese auctions and dealer networks. We present vehicles as we find them.
You approve a vehicle
We present candidates matching your spec with the auction sheet and a firm delivered price. You pick the one you want.
We secure the vehicle + full payment
100% of the quoted landed price is due within 3 days of us securing your vehicle. Your deposit credits toward this.
Vehicle arrives + delivery
Once the vehicle clears customs, we'll have it brought to our shop in Grande Prairie, complete out-of-province inspection, full pre-delivery service, and ready it for pickup.
Custom Order Terms
Deposit Required to Begin
A $2,000 CAD deposit is required upfront before any sourcing begins. This deposit commits us to sourcing and securing a vehicle to your spec: active searching at Japanese auctions and dealer networks, vehicle presentation as we find options, and acquisition of the vehicle you approve. Once active sourcing has begun (typically the same day we receive the deposit), the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Payment Schedule
- $2,000 CAD deposit — to begin sourcing.
- 100% of total landed price — due within 3 days of winning the vehicle at auction. Your deposit credits toward this.
Total Landed Price
The total landed price quoted to you includes:
- Vehicle
- Japanese inland transport
- Ocean shipping to Canada
- Customs clearance
- Inland transport to our shop in Grande Prairie, Alberta
- Out-of-province inspection
- Pre-delivery service (fluids, filters, safety inspection, any necessary repairs)
Refund Conditions
The $2,000 deposit is non-refundable once active sourcing has begun (typically the same day as deposit receipt). It is refundable only in the brief window between deposit receipt and the start of active sourcing. If we win at auction, your deposit applies as credit toward the total landed price. If a vehicle you approved isn’t secured, your deposit stays committed and we keep sourcing until we find one that meets your spec. The money-back guarantee on the vehicle itself is preserved separately — see below.
Money-Back Guarantee
If the vehicle arrives in materially different condition than described in the auction sheet or our pre-purchase summary, you receive a full refund of all payments made (deposit + payment, if paid). You are not obligated to accept a vehicle that doesn't match what was promised.
Timeline
Custom-ordered vehicles typically take 6 to 8 weeks from auction win in Japan to delivery at our shop in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This includes Japanese inland transport, ocean shipping (typically Vancouver port), customs clearance, and inland transport to our shop.
Pre-Delivery Service
Every vehicle is fully serviced before delivery: oil change, fluids, filters, safety inspection, and any necessary repairs identified during our inspection. You receive the vehicle ready to drive and registered.
Parts at Cost
As an existing customer, you have access to all our kei truck and JDM parts inventory at our cost (no markup) for the lifetime of the vehicle. Whether it's routine maintenance or a future repair, you pay what we paid.
Warranty
All custom-ordered vehicles include a minimum 2-month warranty covering drivetrain and major systems. Extended warranty options available.
Payment Methods
Deposit and final payment accepted via e-Transfer, Stripe, or wire transfer. Payment plans available for established customers.
