SamuraiTrucks is based in Alberta, but the majority of our parts orders ship out of province. Kei truck and JDM owners in BC, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Maritimes rely on us because their local parts network is thin or nonexistent. Here’s how our cross-country shipping actually works.
There are only a handful of legitimate kei truck parts stockists in Canada, and most of them are drop-shippers — they don’t actually own inventory, they forward your order to Yahoo Auctions and wait for a container to cross the Pacific. For customers in BC, Ontario, or the Maritimes, the calculation is simple: do you wait 3–5 business days for a part that ships from Alberta, or do you wait 4–8 weeks for a drop-shipped order from Japan?
BC is our biggest out-of-province market. Island kei truck owners (Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands) specifically rely on us because the ferry situation makes same-province shopping difficult. BC customers typically order full clutch kits, timing belts, water pumps, and brake parts for Suzuki Carry and Daihatsu Hijet trucks used on small farms, cabins, and hunting properties.
Ontario customers tend to be more diverse: urban kei truck owners buying cosmetic parts, farm-use kei vans, and a growing contingent of Hilux Surf, Land Cruiser, and Delica owners sourcing drivetrain and body parts we stock specifically for JDM full-size.
Saskatchewan and Manitoba customers are overwhelmingly farm-use. The parts that move to the Prairies are working parts — clutches, brakes, suspension, cooling, filters.
We charge actual shipping cost (no markup) calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination. Typical small parts (filters, belts, sensors) ship for $12–$25 anywhere in Canada. Medium orders (clutch kits, brake kits, drivetrain parts) run $25–$55. Large items (fenders, tailgates, bumpers) require custom quotes. We don’t inflate shipping to pad margins.
Because we ship from Canada (Alberta), there are no customs issues, no HST surprises at the door, no import brokerage fees. The price on our site is the price you pay, plus shipping, plus whatever taxes already applied at checkout. That’s the big advantage over ordering from Japan-based sellers: no border friction.
Browse our hundreds of part catalogue, find what you need, and hit the Inquire button on any part. We respond within 24 hours (usually same business day) with confirmed stock status, final pricing, and shipping cost to your location. Pay by e-transfer, credit card, or wire transfer. Parts ship out the same or next business day.
